Some tips to manage holiday stress...
Stress around the holidays is a thing. Many people (women especially) put so much pressure on ourselves to do and be everything, and make sure everything is perfect, especially this time of year. We all know that a lot of this stems from our own need to be perfect, so I have come up with a few affirmations to help through all the family time and holiday hoopla!
I love Christmas!
I love my family!
I love sharing the holidays with my loved ones.
Everything I do is enough!
It’s OK to allow people to help me.
It’s OK to ask for help.
The holidays provide wonderful opportunity to see my friends and family.
I’m going to sleep in tomorrow morning.
The food I’m preparing is from love and is perfect.
My house is perfectly comfortable, cozy, and presentable.
I am doing more than enough.
It is important also to allow yourself to embrace the sad and blue feelings during a time of year that reminds us of loved ones we have lost. Give those feelings of grief some space, acknowledge them for what they are, and be with them so that you can appreciate the love. By not resisting them you are honoring your loved ones, and then those feelings can move on through.
