I ran into this article today which scientifically does a number on sun exposure and Vitamin D.

Updated: Jun 13, 2019

I want to share it because this is exactly the kind of on-going research and reassessment of what we know that must continue as we acknowledge more and more how we have been moving away from nature and replacing natural living with man-made chemicals and products to the detriment of our bodies, our health, and the health of our mother, earth.

This article provides some outstanding food for thought and real world data to back up its theory on the need for sun exposure and vitamin D.

The original article link was removed, so I am replacing with another excellent article on Vitamin D and sunshine - how much time we need to spend in the sun to get our daily allotment of Vitamin D which, in addition to rickets, osteomalacia, and osteopenia (softening and distortion of the bones, and precursors to osteoporosis), a deficiency of vitamin D has been identified in such conditions as insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, and diabetes, moodiness, anxiety, brain fog, macular degeneration, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and emphysema, cancer, heart disease, and auto-immune conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Crohn’s Disease, Celiac Disease, Hashimoto’s and Graves Diseases, Parkinson’s, Lupus, and Ankylosing Spondylitis, and has even been shown to improve nonspecific chronic widespread musculoskeletal pain.

The sun is good for so much more than glorious rises and sets!
